TRC Lutherland Tour

This is the first post of over a dozen to come as part of our tour to see the sites in Germany of the Reformation. We are members and friends of the Tomorrow River Conference (TRC) of the East Central Synod of Wisconsin (ECSW) in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

On October 31st, 1517, a German monk named Martin Luther posted his 95 ideas on how to make the church better, particularly around the topic of indulgences. This event, in addition to being the right time, place, and political conditions, set forth the firestorm of God's word into the world at dramatically shaped the world's future through the influences upon of language, culture, religion, and law.

2017 marks the 500th anniversary of this beginning of the Protestant Reformation. We will be touring the sites where the Reformation began to unfold and gain momentum. There will be 19 of us on this trip, and our hope is not only for us to have personal takeaways from this experience, but also that we may share these thoughts and experiences with you as we go.

While we are traveling, we ask that you pray for us. Pray for our safety, our wellness, and our nourishment of mind & spirit.

  1. Watch over this group of 19 as they travel to Germany. Watch over them and grant them peace, trust, hope and open minds as they follow the journey of Reformation sites. Wrap them with your loving care and return them safely home.
    Amen
